Original crew of Alien to appear in Alien Isolation DLC

SEGA have announced some exciting news for Alien fans, with the upcoming first-person survival horror Alien Isolation to feature the original crew of the Nostromo in DLC content.

Initially announced as pre-order content, developer Creative Assembly have since confirmed that players will be able to obtain the DLC separately after the game’s release, though no price point has been set as yet.

The two missions are titled ‘Crew Expendable’, in which the player will control Ripley, Dallas or Parker as they attempt to force the creature into the airlock, and ‘Last Survivor’ where the player as Ripley must set the ship’s self-destruct switch before fleeing the scene. Sigourney Weaver, Tom Skerrit, Veronica Cartwright, Harry Dean Stanton, Yaphet Kotto and Ian Holm have all provided voice work to go along with their likenesses.

It’s a nice touch to be able to revisit the classic film in game form, but the news seems to have ignited debate over the nature of DLC and even pre-orders on the whole. The content itself, though, looks to have captured the tone and art style of the film perfectly, and we look forward to exploring the Nostromo in first person.

Signing off…
